You’ve Never Seen the Tobin Bridge Look This Beautiful

If a bridge could have feelings, you’ve have to think the Tobin Bridge would be bitter. For decades, it enjoyed being called “The Bridge’’ during traffic reports and when locals gave directions.

But there’s a new “The Bridge’’ in town, just yards away. The Zakim Bridge may be relatively young, but it’s stolen all of the Tobin’s glory. Now, when people talk about the Tobin, they talk about the nasty green color, the interminable lane closures and backups, or how (sigh) ugly it is compared to the younger span down the road.

But you’ve never seen the Tobin like this:

Local artist and photographer Greg DuBois took this photo from Waitt’s Mount in Malden and shared it on his Instagram account. Sure, maybe the stunning sky is doing most of the work, but that’s as lovely a photo of the Tobin you’re likely to see.
