Two Killed in Crash on the Jamaicaway

Two women were killed early Sunday morning in a head-on crash on the Jamaicaway, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The accident happened shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday when a BMW 530XI carrying three occupants struck a Toyota Camry carrying two on the Jamaicaway at Perkins St. in Jamaica Plain. According to the initial investigation, the BMW crossed the center-lane markers into the oncoming Toyota.

Two passengers from the BMW, a 44-year-old Everett woman and a 33-year-old Revere woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims’ names were not released. Police said they were not wearing seat belts, and this was determined to be a factor in their deaths.

The Jamaicaway was reopened at 6:35 a.m.
