Harvard Food Services Employee Wins $10m on Scratch Ticket
Harvard students aren’t the only ones on campus looking forward to a big payday.
After serving some of the world’s most elite students for 28 years, food services employee Ana Rodriguez may start rubbing some high society elbows herself — the cafeteria checker won $10 million this week on a scratch ticket.

Rodriguez could have accepted the full amount in payments over the next 20 years, but instead settled for a lump sum of $6.5 million, The Boston Globe reports. After taxes she’ll take home $4.55 million, or $4.54 million if you factor in the $10,000 she’s said she’s already spent on lottery tickets.
Despite the sudden wealth, Rodriguez won’t be leaving her job anytime soon — she told The Harvard Crimson she plans to stay working for at least two years to keep her benefits.
“I’m here to keep my head level,’’ she told the paper.
Rodriguez reportedly struggled with debts and lost her home to foreclosure five years ago. She plans to use the money to secure some long-term investments and support her extended family.
Pretty respectable, considering most of us would be all:
