Framingham Day Care Workers Fired After Allegedly Suspending Toddler by Shirt
Three staff members at a KinderCare in Framingham have been fired after allegedly hanging a 20-month old child from a door handle by his shirt last Friday, according to Fox 25.
The alleged incident took place outside the building, near the school’s playground. Police told WBZ that one worker allegedly suspended the boy while the other two recorded it. Another employee saw the incident and reported it to police on Tuesday, according to The Boston Globe.
The boy was not hurt, and the employees were suspended soon after the incident was reported. On Friday, KinderCare announced that it had terminated their employment.
While no one involved in the incident is currently facing charges, KinderCare, the Framingham police, the state’s day care licensing agency, and the Middlesex county district attorney’s office are investigating. Officials are also looking to see if the alleged photos and videos were ever posted online, according to The Globe.
A statement from the school, as reported by Fox 25, called the alleged incident “completely inappropriate and out of line with the standard of care we provide to families and the children entrusted to our care every day.’’
