Toddlers Seriously Injured When Bouncy House is Thrown in Wind

A bouncy house that was thrown nearly 50 feet from strong winds left two toddler injured at Sullivan Farm in Nashua Sunday afternoon.

WHDH reports that a 2-year-old boy was flown to Tufts New England Medical Center, while a 3-year-old boy was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua.

Ranch co-owner Gary Bergeron told WMUR that the playhouse had been inflated to dry out from the rain and was not intended for use, but that the children found their way inside.

“We’re really safety-conscious, but this was unfortunate,’’ Rickety Ranch co-owner Gary Bergeron told NECN. “It wasn’t ready, it wasn’t tied down properly, it just wasn’t meant to be used.’’

Accidents from airborne bouncy houses happen more often than you may think: a man in Spain was arrested earlier this year after five of the bouncy castles he operated were thrown by strong winds, and two children were injured in Tuscon, Arizona when their bouncy house blew over a fence and landed on a highway.
