Catherine Greig, longtime girlfriend of James “Whitey’’ Bulger, could face a federal grand jury in an attempt by authorities to locate Bulger’s hidden assets, according to The Boston Globe.

Greig, 63, is serving an eight-year sentence for helping Bulger avoid capture.

Greig has been told that she will be placed before a federal grand jury in Boston that is attempting to track Bulger’s hidden assets, which would be distributed among the families of the gangster’s victims, according to the person close to the family, who asked not to be identified.

According to The Globe, Greig has denied knowing of any hidden assets and it is not yet clear when she would appear before the grand jury.
