Western Mass. Passenger Dies After Driver Crashes into Pole
A Western Massachusetts man died after the car he was riding in crashed into a utility pole in Williamsburg early Sunday morning. Massachusetts State Police believe speed may have been a factor in the single-car crash.
According to police, a 26-year-old driver from Hatfield lost control of his 1995 Toyota Camry, crashing so hard that the car wrapped around the pole. Williamsburg Firefighters were able to extract both the driver and the 25-year-old passenger, who were then taken to a local hospital. The passenger, a resident of Florence, Mass., died a short while later. Both the driver and passenger’s identities have been withheld by police.
No charges have been filed, though police are still investigating the crash.
