Lawrence Woman Arrested in Bizarre Kidnapping Case
A Lawrence woman suspected of a Boston kidnapping was arrested in Maryland on Saturday. Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter’s office confirmed Stephanie Walker, 28, of Lawrence was taken into custody in Baltimore.
Investigators believe Walker and Adynew Alves, 28, of Boston, carjacked a woman in Boston on Sept. 23. According to State Police, the pair stuffed the woman into the trunk of her own car and raced down Route 24 in the stolen Nissan Sentra. The unnamed 49-year-old victim was able to escape the trunk in Taunton, where other drivers stopped to help her, according to Sutter’s office. The car was later found in the Taunton area.

Walker has been charged as a fugitive from justice. Alves is still at large.
