Reports: Man Tumbles off Fiedler Footbridge Onto Berkeley Ramp
A man is in critical condition after he either fell or jumped off of the Fiedler Footbridge over Storrow Drive Sunday afternoon, falling below the main road and onto the Berkeley Street on-ramp, according to several reports.
Both Universal Hub and the Boston Herald report the man fell about 50 feet onto the ramp below.
Massachusetts State Police spokesperson Dave Procopio told Both sites the witnesses saw the man lift his arms and flip over the wall of the bridge. From the Herald:
“Witnesses said the man was leaning his back against the concrete wall…when he put his arms out and appeared to do a back flip up over the wall and down toward the roadway below,’’ state police spokesman David Procopio said in a statement.
