An employee at Carver Hill Orchard in Stow was in serious condition after the tractor he was operating rolled over on top of him on Saturday, authorities told Boston.com.

The employee was transported via medical helicopter to Tufts Medical Center for treatment, Stow Fire Department lieutenant Mark Guerin said. Stow Police said they were investigating the incident, which occurred at about 11 a.m.

Christopher Jenkins, a Stow resident who lives near the orchard, shared the photo above of the helicopter landing in a baseball field at Hale Middle School.

“I heard the helicopter overhead, saw it land, took a picture, and went back home and replayed the police radio,’’ he told Boston.com.

The apple-picking section of the orchard will probably be closed for the weekend, a worker at the orchard said.
