Report: 2 Shot at Danvers Motel
A suspect is in custody after two people were shot at the Knight’s Inn in Danvers late Wednesday night.
The Salem News reports that two men were shot, one in the thigh and the other in the knee, at the location. Danvers Police called in the NEMLEC SWAT team for support during the ordeal.
Neither victim was said to be mobile, and police said the victims lost a lot of blood and were losing consciousness. At the time the suspect was apprehended, the victims had not been moved.
Danvers police called in a SWAT team from North Andover and a K-9 unit from Middleton. The suspect was said to be in room 262 and armed before he was taken into custody.
The Knight’s Inn is located off of Route 1 in Danvers, between Route 114 and I-95. The venerated old highway saw another SWAT incident in May, when the special team was called in to Saugus’s Ferns Motel to help apprehend a fugitive and second suspect.
