Vehicle Driven into Charles River in Cambridge; Both Passengers Escape to Safety
A car carrying two passengers was driven into the Charles River shortly before noon on Friday, and both people were able to make it to safety, Massachusetts State Police said.
The car was traveling down Memorial Drive when it went into the river in Cambridge near Western Avenue, police told The Boston Globe. The Marine Unit of the State Police and Cambridge Fire Department came on-site as workers attempted to lift the car from the waters.
