Police: Family of Five Killed in Quadruple Murder-Suicide
In one of the deadliest shooting incidents in Maine history, 33-year-old Joel Smith is believed to have shot and killed his wife and their three children before killing himself, state police said.
Smith’s wife Heather, 35, and children aged 4, 7, and 12 were found dead in their Saco home on Sunday. The case is being investigated as a quadruple murder/suicide.
The family had been having domestic troubles, state police said in a press conference, according to Portland Press Herald’s Scott Dolan:

Heather had told a friend that her husband had threatened suicide and pointed a gun at his head last week, The Portland Press Herald reported. No note from Smith has been found.
