Flash Flood Warning Issued for Springfield Area
The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for parts of Hampden County Sunday night.
More than two inches of rain have already fallen in the area as strong storms pushed through western Massachusetts and Northern Connecticut.
“Flash flooding has already been reported in spots around Longmeadow…Springfield…and West Springfield,’’ according to the service.
The warning, issued at 7:10 p.m., is set to expire by 10:15 p.m..
The storms produced high winds and took down trees and branches in the area.
