Former Agawam High School Coach Facing Rape Charges
As if Springfield needed something else to be sad about.
A former junior varsity volleyball coach at Agawam High School in Agawam is facing rape charges. Michael Rash, 24, of Springfield, has pleaded not guilty to having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl, the AP reports.
Rash was arraigned Wednesday, July 23 on four counts of “rape and abuse of a child aggravated by age.’’ Rash was not on the faculty at the school.
Rash was arrested in June after the girl’s mother found material suggestive of a sexual relationship on phone and computer records.
He was allowed to remain free on $1,000 bail with electronic monitoring.
Boston.com reached Rash at his residence and he declined to comment.
