Hope Solo Apologizes to Fans, Doesn’t Say Why
American soccer star Hope Solo apologized on Facebook Thursday for her role in a fight at her sister’s Washington state home last week. Solo said she couldn’t speak about the charges levied against her, but then said her name “will be cleared.’’
Solo was arrested on a domestic violence assault charge Saturday after police determined she was the aggressor in a fight with her sister and nephew. Solo pleaded not guilty, with her attorney saying she was the one who was attacked in the altercation.

According to the Associated Press, Solo’s nephew told police the fight started when he was arguing with Solo about his goal of becoming an actor. As the argument intensified, his mother came to break the two up, and Solo punched her in the face, according to the nephew.
He said he then hit Solo in the head with a broom and pointed a BB gun at her, demanding she leave the house.
