Pittsfield Teen Found in Arizona, Adult Charged in Disappearance
A kidnapped Pittsfield teen has been found in Arizona.
Federal, Massachusetts and Arizona law enforcement agencies worked in tandem to find Zackary Lawrence, 14, who was allegedly lured away from home by a 47-year-old man posing as a teenager online, according to the Berkshire Eagle. Bradley David Cooper of Chandler, Arizona was arrested on several charges related to the incident.
The Eagle reports:
A Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office report states Cooper posed as a 16-year-old, calling himself Trent Thompson and arranged to meet Zackary in Pittsfield.
After two days of driving, Cooper picked up Zackary near his home on Francis Avenue, and headed back across the country, making stops in New York, Indiana and Oklahoma before reaching Cooper’s residence in Chandler on Monday.
Lawrence went missing June 6 and was found on June 11. In a statement, Pittsfield Police said Cooper could face charges in Massachusetts.
