Cambridge Police Release Photo of Suspected Bank Robber
He may have pulled off the robbery, but did this suspected Cambridge bank robber pull off that purple shirt? Cambridge Police released photos today of a man they suspect robbed a Massachusetts Avenue bank Tuesday.
Cambridge Police believe the sartorially-challenged man robbed Eastern Bank on Mass Ave. Tuesday. According to police, he walked into the Eastern Bank on Mass Ave at about 4:37 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money. He then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect did not have a gun, according to police.
Police released three images of the man on Twitter, asking followers to retweet the post.

Asking followers to retweet the image, which spreads it to their friends and followers, is a relatively new tactic for the department, according to Cambridge Police Director of Communications Jeremy Warnick.
“I think it’s a really powerful way to get the word out.’’ said Warnick. “We’re also posting the photo on Mass Most Wanted, so that should really help get it out to the public.’’
As with all bank robberies, the FBI is also investigating the case. Cambridge Police investigators are working closely with federal agents, according to Warnick.
Anyone with information about the robbery can call Cambridge Police at 617-349-3331.
