Pole Falls in Wakefield, Injuring Woman Pushing Stroller
Wakefield Police said a truck struck a light pole this morning, knocking the pole into the path of a woman pushing two children in a jogging stroller.
The children were not hurt, but the woman was struck by the pole and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The paving truck had made an illegal turn from North Avenue onto Prospect Street leading to the pole being struck, police added.

The driver is expected to be cited for making an illegal turn, and additional charges are possible, police said.
