Update, 5 a.m.: A police standoff with a man in Springfield ended peacefully overnight with no injuries and the suspect being taken in for psychiatric evaluation.

WWLP reported that the 26-year-old man had allegedly attacked police with a machete and a scythe before barricading himself in a home on Aspen Street. Police surrounded the home and used pepper spray to flush him out and arrest him.

No charges have been filed at this time.
