Harvard Black Mass, First Moved, Then Canceled, May Have Happened in Chinese Restaurant

Update, 11:55 p.m.: The Harvard University Black Mass, stripped of its school affiliation and then apprently cancelled when no one would host the event, may have happened after all. The Satanists met at a Harvard Square’s Hong Kong Lounge, according to The Boston Globe.

Original post: The satanic black mass planned for Monday night has been cancelled, according to the Harvard Crimson. Organizers tried to find an alternative location after a Harvard University student group agreed to move the ceremony off of campus, but could not find a suitable location, according to the school paper.

Earlier Monday evening, Harvard Extension School Dean of Students Robert Neugeboren said the black mass re-enactment planned for the Harvard campus has been moved off of school property.

The Harvard Extension Cultural Studies Club had planned to perform a re-enactment of the ceremony on in the basement of Memorial Hall Monday night with the help of a satanic temple, according to the Harvard Crimson. That drew immediate and repeated condemnation from the Catholic Church. The Archdiocese of Boston planned a prayer vigil and procession to St. Paul’s Church in response to the black mass.

Protesters were out in force Monday night, holding up signs condemning the planned black mass.
