Teenager is stabbed in fight in Dorchester
Boston police and EMS workers responded to a stabbing in Dorchester on Friday morning, police said.
Two men had a disagreement that allegedly escalated into a fight, said police spokesman David Estrada.
Police received a call about the incident on Stanwood Street at about 11 a.m.
During the fight, 28-year-old Kelechi Oparah, of Dorchester, allegedly stabbed the approximately 17-year-old victim in the leg, police said. Police have not released the victim’s name.
EMS workers took the victim to Boston Medical Center, a spokeswoman said. He sustained injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
Oparah was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned on Monday in Roxbury District Court, police said. He is charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, said Estrada.
