Mother of missing N.H. teen writes letter to daughter

The mother of Abigail Hernandez, the New Hampshire teenager who went missing last month after leaving her school one afternoon, issued a plea for her daughter’s return today.

Zenya Hernandez of Conway wrote a letter to her 15-year-old daughter, who disappeared on Oct. 9.

“I miss you and love you more than you can imagine,’’ said Hernandez in the letter. “I feel your absence every day. You belong home with me.’’

Abigail was last seen leaving Kennett High School.

“Abby, you are a strong young woman and I am staying strong for you,’’ her mother wrote. “You are courageous, you are smart, and you are beautiful.’’

Hernandez said in the letter she did not believe Abigail was dead, and hoped her daughter would reach out to her.

“Abby, I keep having a dream where you come home and I give you the biggest hug ever,’’ she wrote. “I know in my heart this dream means something and that it matters. I pray to God it will come true.’’

The letter is signed, “Love, Mom.’’

State and Conway police and the FBI have received hundreds of tips in the case. An online vigil for the teenager was held Nov. 3 using social media sites and the hashtag #bringabbyhome.
