Tsarnaev lawyers press prosecutors for evidence
Defense lawyers for suspected Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev argued in court filings Thursday that federal prosecutors are unfairly seeking a trial advantage by refusing to immediately turn over evidence in the case, including interviews investigators conducted with Tsarnaev’s parents, siblings, and other family members. The defense lawyers argue that the production of the evidence is critical in a high-stakes case that carries the potential for the death penalty. A hearing is slated for Tuesday.
