Woman injured on Green Line trolley in Brookline
A woman was injured on a MBTA Green Line trolley in Brookline after falling when the trolley’s operator applied the emergency brake to avoid hitting a pedestrian on the tracks on Beacon Street Monday evening, authorities said. The woman was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, said T spokesman Joe Pesaturo. The operator told investigators that the pedestrian ran in front of the outbound trolley as it was approaching Tappan Street, Pesaturo said. Under the T’s policy, the operator will be taken out of service pending an investigation and will undergo a post-incident drug and alcohol screening, Pesaturo said.
