Jared Remy faces murder charge

On Aug. 16, Jared Remy was charged with the murder of Jennifer Martel, his girlfriend of seven years and the mother of their 4-year-old daughter. Prosecutors allege that Remy, the son of Boston Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy, attacked Martel in the kitchen of their home, in the living room, and on a stairway before stabbing her repeatedly.

Attorney Peter Bella stood by as his client, Jared Remy, was arraigned in the murder of Jennifer Martel at Waltham District Court.

According to a docket at Waltham District Court, Jennifer Martel obtained an emergency restraining order against Remy at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Workers from Belfor Property Restoration surveyed the patio a unit on Stearns Hill Road in Waltham, where Jared Remy allegedly killed Jennifer Martel.
