Woman, 75, injured in hit-and-run accident in Peabody, police say
A 75-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in an apparent hit-and-run accident in Peabody Friday evening, authorities said. Police Lieutenant Arthur Yeo said that the accident on Central Street is being investigated as a hit-and-run and that police were speaking with someone in relation to the investigation. Yeo said the victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. Police responded to the accident at 8:45 p.m., he said. No other details were immediately available.
