Police identify Roxbury shooting victim
Authorities identified a man Tuesday who was fatally shot in Roxbury last week as 22-year-old Clifton Townsend. At about 8:30 p.m. April 17, Boston police officers found Townsend on the ground in front of 237 Dudley St. suffering from several gunshot wounds, officials said. He was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The following evening friends gathered at a makeshift shrine at the spot where Townsend, of Roxbury, was found. They described him as a good person with an infant daughter and many friends. No arrests have been made in the case.
