Climate-change art on display
Climate change-themed artwork created by students from Grade 3 through high school is being displayed on and in Lowell Regional Transit Authority buses, as well as inside bus terminals, through the month of June as part of an initiative called Cool Science. The project, led by professors from University of Massachusetts Lowell and University of Massachusetts Boston, included research to gauge what students throughout the state has learned about climate change, as well as how mass transit media affect public understanding of the topic. Nearly 600 entries were received; the top six entries are featured on bus signs. Other entries can be viewed at www.coolscience.net.
