Steps to protect water supplies
The town’s Conservation Commission is asking residents to do their part this spring and summer to help protect local waterways, wetlands, and drinking-water aquifers. The commission recommends that residents use environmentally friendly fertilizers and pesticides; clean up and properly dispose of pet waste; avoid flushing prescription and over-the-counter medications down the toilet or sink; and adhere to the town’s seasonal limits on watering lawns and gardens. For more information about keeping local waters safe, visit the Conservation Commission’s page at www.hopkintonma.gov
, or contact the office at 508-497-9757.
