Community meeting to discuss Kenney Park renovations slated for Nov. 19
Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, Ward 6 Alderman Rebekah Gewirtz, and the city’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development are scheduled to hold a community meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, in the Tufts administration building, 167 Holland St., to discuss renovations to Kenney Park, at the corner of Highland Avenue and Grove Street in Davis Square. It has been more than 20 years since Kenney Park has been remodeled. City leaders would like to modernize the park, which is showing some age and features play structures that lack the latest safety upgrades. In its capital investment plan for fiscal years 2012-2016, the city earmarked $25,000 for the design of the new park. All are welcome to attend the meeting and share ideas for the park’s future.
