Green Solutions Expo returns Sunday
The Green Solutions Expo returns to Newton Centre from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, featuring a wide array of environmentally friendly products and services. The annual event is part of Newton Community Pride’s two-day Harvest Fair, which will wrap up its array of crafts, food, and family rides Sunday. The expo is sponsored by the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce and Green Decade/Newton, and will showcase up to 50 exhibits designed to help reduce carbon footprints and save money at home and in business. This year, the expo will spotlight three new electric cars: the Ford Electric Focus, Nissan Leaf, and Chevy Volt. Harris Cyclery of Newton will be demonstrating commuting bikes that fold up to briefcase size in less than 60 seconds. Participants can also enter a free raffle with prizes, including Red Sox and Bruins memorabilia, a 5-pound bag of Pearls Premium ultra-low-maintenance lawn seed, gourmet mushroom kits, and a bag of fair-trade dark chocolate.
