Maine soldier dies in Afghanistan
US Representative Mike Michaud said a Special Forces soldier from Maine has died from injuries sustained in a blast in Afghanistan. A spokesman for Michaud said Army Sergeant First Class Aaron Henderson was wounded Sept. 30 and died Monday at the hospital at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan. Henderson was born in Houlton and has family there. Michaud’s spokesman said Henderson served in Second Battalion, Fifth Special Forces Group, Fort Campbell, Ky., and that both legs were amputated after he was injured by an improvised explosive device.
