Progress reported in Maine trade mission to China
Members of Governor Paul LePage’s trade mission to China are reporting progress in this week’s visit. The delegation led by LePage arrived in Hong Kong late Sunday and since then has met with various officials and business leaders. Delegation member Tom Yale, president of rope and cord maker Yale Cordage, said Hong Kong companies with whom the Mainers met on Monday were already familiar with the state’s products and are very interested in exploring business relationships. On Monday night, the Maine Lobster Council featured a lobster tasting event. LePage spoke to an audience of seafood importers, distributors, and hotel-restaurant buyers from Hong Kong.
