High school gets three new department heads
Somerville High School headmaster John Oteri has announced three new department heads at the school. Karen Woods will lead the science department, Jim Nocito will lead the world languages program, and Jodi Remington will helm the English department. Woods has taught at Somerville High since 2005. Nocito comes to Somerville after 11 years at Lexington High School, where he held a variety of teaching and leadership positions, and has authored two Spanish-language textbooks. Remington comes from Saugus High School, where she was first an assistant principal before taking over the high school’s English department. “It’s been a busy summer for Mr. Oteri, who has worked diligently to build a leadership team that is ready to take Somerville High School to the next level,’’ said Superintendent Anthony Pierantozzi.
