Co-working space Cove closing 2 Boston locations
Just one year after expanding to Boston, the co-working startup Cove, based in Washington, D.C., will shutter two of its Boston spaces.
Cove’s chief operating officer Nick Stafford recently sent an email to its members announcing the closure of Cove’s Back Bay and Union Square locations and canceling plans to expand to the South End.
That means the only Cove left in the Boston area will be one in Kendall Square, Cambridge, which is set to open in August in partnership with a local coffee shop called Barismo.
The email states that the startup wants to “significantly raise the bar” on users’ experience, and plans to do so by securing larger spaces or operating shared spaces with partners like Barismo.
Larger spaces, Cove hopes, will “provide more places to take calls; have areas for both heads-down focus and socializing; and add secure storage for your items,” the email states.
