If you want to make a lot of money in Massachusetts, you might want to consider going into healthcare.
Using 2013 data compiled by the U.S. Bureau of Labor, Boston Business Journal ranked the highest-paying jobs in the Bay State, and found that the top five are all in the medical field.
Unfortunately, the career that makes the most money isn’t always what’s in demand, according to Glassdoor.
Here is the top five:
1. Surgeons
Average Annual Salary: $240,700
Number of Jobs: 1,130
2. Oral and Maxillofacial (Jaws and Face) Surgeons
Average Annual Salary: $231,040
Number of Jobs: 320
3. Anesthesiologist
Average Annual Salary: $219,160
Number of Jobs: 620
4. Internists
Average Annual Salary: $207,140
Number of Jobs: 3,080
5. Family and General Practitioners
Average Annual Salary: $204,810
Number of Jobs: 2,850
