OK, admit it! Have you ever called out sick from work — without really being sick? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. According a new study from CareerBuilder.com one in three workers (32 pecent) have called in sick when they were really healthy. CareerBuilder’s national survey, conducted online by Harris Interactive, asked 3,484 workers and 2,099 employers about absenteeism patterns in the workplace. The CareerBuilder survey also listed some of the most outrageous excuses for missing work. Check out the excuses that kept some employees from showing up – including a close encounter with a swarm of bees and a bad case of anger management. On the other hand, CareerBuilder’s survey also found 30 percent of employees say they’ve gone to work sick in order to save their sick days for occasions for when they’re feeling well.
