Shorter first names lead to bigger paychecks, study suggests
A recent study by the career website TheLadders.com says higher paychecks are tied in with shorter first names.
The sweet spot for letters in a first name was five, based on TheLadders’ data. For names with more than five letters, salary dropped on average by $3,600 per letter, according to the survey. Also, those who used nicknames instead of their longer given names (Steve vs. Stephen, for instance) earned more than those who did not use nicknames.
