A public school nurse in an inner-city Providence, RI, high school, Barbara Rios has transformed the lives of so many. Whether she’s working closely to help a student with his or her physical health or filling the emotional health needs many face from unthinkable challenges in their lives, she’s always there. Through her recent battle with breast cancer, surgery, and chemotherapy, she’s still there, fighting, showing kids that they, too, can overcome it all. What a true inspiration for all.
