The Fenway location of Boston institution Regina Pizzeria has closed, a spokesperson for Boston Restaurant Associates confirmed on Thursday.

Marc Hurwitz of Boston Restaurant Talk first reported the closing, sharing a photo of the Fenway location (1330 Boylston St.) posted on Bluesky. In the photograph, a sign on Regina’s door read, “This location is now closed.”

East Coast Associates, which does public relations for Boston Restaurant Associates and Regina Pizzeria, confirmed the closure. A spokesperson said the lease was up, and the business decided not to renew it at that location.

The Fenway location was also no longer listed on Regina’s website.

Regina Pizzeria, which opened its first location in the North End 100 years ago and has served as a Boston landmark to visitors and residents alike for decades, brought its pizza to Fenway’s restaurant row in 2013, reported Eater Boston

At the time it was part of an expanding brand of Regina’s pizza, spreading not just in Boston but throughout Massachusetts. Patch reported in 2013 that the Fenway location was one of 20 or so locations

Regina still has a footprint in Boston and Massachusetts, but with a smaller number of locations at 12 pizzerias. Many of them are quick-service locations instead of sit-down restaurants, like the famous North End spot.
