A couple months after the “No Kings” protest drew tens of thousands to the streets across Greater Boston, organizers have announced the next rally, scheduled for later this month.
The next “No Kings” demonstration will take place Saturday, March 28, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The movement is organized by a coalition that includes the ACLU of Massachusetts, Indivisible Mass Coalition, and Mass 50501, according to a press release from organizers.
The movement began in June 2025 when nationwide “No Kings” protests coincided with Trump’s birthday celebration and a military parade in Washington, D.C. to mark the Army’s 250th anniversary.
In Boston, local activists held demonstrations alongside the Boston Pride for the People Parade, criticizing what they described as an increasingly authoritarian federal government.
More than 100,000 demonstrators attended a subsequent rally in October. During that event, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu spoke up against Trump’s policies, particularly those related to ICE and anti-immigration.

Organizers said they anticipate the March rally to be the largest yet.
“The Trump administration is trying to shred the Constitution,” organizers said in the press release. “The ‘No Kings’ movement is an unequivocal statement that we, the people, will not let that happen.”
According to organizers, the movement’s goals extend beyond protest and include strengthening democracy in the U.S.
“It’s not just about protesting what’s wrong — it’s about building something better,” the release states. “We intend to show our power, build our power, and power a democracy that advances freedom, equality, justice, and dignity for all.”
The March demonstration will begin with an invitation for supporters to line sidewalks along the route to Boston Common, carrying signs and flags to create what organizers describe as an “image of resistance rising.”
The rally will then continue on the Common with speeches, performances, and tabling by dozens of local advocacy groups promoting pro-democracy initiatives.
