It’s ‘Maine Day’ at New England’s largest fair

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — New England’s largest fair is showcasing Maine food and products.

Saturday is “Maine Day” at the 100th Eastern State Exposition in West Springfield, Massachusetts. All six New England states participate in the 17-day event, known as the “Big E.”

Commissioner Walt Whitcomb from the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry says the special day for Maine showcases what makes the state “unique and special.”

Built in 1925, the State of Maine building showcases Maine foods and products, as well as features information on Maine’s many recreational and vacation opportunities.
