These are the best high schools in Mass., according to U.S. News

The publication's latest high school rankings were released this week.

Boston Latin School has topped U.S. News and World Report’s ranking of the best high schools in Massachusetts once again.

Ranked 46th nationally, Boston Latin received an overall score of 99.74, with a 98% graduation rate and 94% of students passing at least one AP exam, reported U.S News, which released its latest iteration of its high school rankings this week.

Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Hadley, the runner-up in Mass., also cracked the top 100 nationally, at No. 96.

Overall, Massachusetts was the state with the largest percentage of its high schools in the top 25% nationally, with 43% making that cut.

The rankings are based on six factors: college readiness (30%), state assessment proficiency (20%), state assessment performance (20%), underserved student performance (10%), college curriculum breadth (10%), and graduation rate (10%).

In addition to its general rankings, U.S. News released its list of the top STEM high schools in the country, and nine Massachusetts schools were featured in the top 50, with Concord Carlisle High School ranking the highest in the state at No. 16.

In a ranking of the best charter high schools, three Mass. schools ranked in the top 50: Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Hadley (No. 22), Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis (No. 38), and Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (No. 47).
