One suspect is in custody and another remains at large after a shot was fired Monday afternoon at the High School of Science and Technology in Springfield, police said.
A Springfield police school resource officer called in a “large disturbance” at the school at about 2:10 p.m., the Springfield Police Department said in a statement. One suspect “struck” a victim and fired a shot from inside a school hallway through a window, according to the statement.
No one was shot or seriously injured in the incident, police said.
The suspects were reportedly let in by a student who “breached” a security door at the school, according to the statement.
One suspect is in custody, but police are still searching for the suspect that fired the shot, according to the statement.
