The New York Times says these 11 New England schools are doing the most for the American dream

These institutions are committed to economic diversity.

The New York Times released its third annual ranking of colleges committed to economic diversity, and several schools from New England made the list.

The ranking, called the College Access Index, shows which institutions are doing the most to promote the American dream, according to the Times.

The ranking was determined through an analysis of how many low- and middle-income students are enrolled at each school and how much they are charged. To be considered in the ranking, the schools had to have a five-year graduation rate of at least 75 percent.

The list includes 171 colleges and universities across the country. The following 11 schools from New England made the top 50:
