A Brockton student, who was accepted at seven of the eight Ivy League schools he applied to, has decided to attend Harvard University, just less than an hour from his hometown.

Obinna Igbokwe, a 17-year-old Brockton High School senior, picked the historic institution over Princeton after ruling out the other prestigious colleges, The Brockton Enterprise reports.

“It was mainly financial,” Igbokwe told the paper. “However, I also really like the opportunities I could have there. I feel as though I’ll have a great experience there, and will be able to use the networks I have already have here.”

Igbokwe said that he plans to study biomedical engineering.
