The results of the 2015 PARCC exam are in and Massachusetts residents are discovering how their district did as state education officials prepare to vote on whether to replace the MCAS with the new standardized test, reports The Boston Globe.

Across the state, 60 percent of students met the standard in English and 52 percent met the standard in math.

School districts had the option of giving MCAS or PARCC this past spring. Massachusetts is in the midst of a two-year trial period to evaluate the new exam. According to the Globe, a smaller percentage of students reached PARCC’s “Meeting Expectations’’ standard than MCAS’s “Proficiency’’ standard.
