No, not thatPedro Martinez.

A superintendent search committee formally recommended four finalists to Mayor Marty Walsh and the Boston School Committee for consideration for the city’s next public schools superintendent.

After a yearlong, national search, Dr. Dana Bedden, Dr. Tommy Chang, Guadalupe Guerrero and Pedro Martinez were announced as the finalists Thursday.

“Every child in Boston deserves a high quality education,’’ Walsh said in a statement. “The Search Committee has presented four very strong, diverse candidates with proven track records in urban education.

From February 23 to 26, each finalist will spend one day in Boston participating in public interviews with the School Committee and panels with Boston students, parents, teachers, and community members. Some panel discussion will be live streamed at bostonpublicschools.org and candidates’ applications will be posted on bostonpublicschools.org/superintendentsearch for public feedback.

John McDonough will finish out the 2014-15 school year, having served two years as interim superintendent since Carol R. Johnson retired in 2013.

The committee will vote March 3 for the next superintendent. In the meantime, might we suggest that Bedden, Chang, Guerrero and Martinez — who currently work in Virginia, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Nevada, respectively — brush up on their snow day protocol.
