R.I. school nurse placed on leave after drug bust
A nurse at Narragansett High School has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with heroin possession three weeks ago. School officials said that Lynn Magnusen, 52, is on paid leave pending the criminal case and that a substitute nurse has been hired for the rest of the school year. Magnusen was arrested in Charlestown March 14 after police said she was found unconscious inside her car in a liquor store parking lot. Authorities said she was in possession of a half-gram of heroin, a syringe containing suspected heroin, and a glass pipe similar to those used to smoke crack cocaine.
